Gillian Harkness  Tutor for  Enamelling and Silversmithing

Gill is a maker of Contemporary Silver Jewellery and decorative Enamel Panels. She is a member of the  Guild of Enamellers. She has been teaching at Orchard for nine years and her classes cover all levels. Sarah Finch   Tutor for Stained Glass

Sarah has been teaching since 1994 to both children and adults of all ability levels. She also teaches all forms of glass techniques at City of Bath College. She runs residential leaded stained glass workshop at The Ammerdown Centre near Radstock and is currently working with year 6 children from Batheaston Primary School on a stained glass window for their library. She is a member of the Contemporary glass society (CGS) http://www.cgs.org.uk



Fiona Edwards   Tutor for Stained Glass Work  

Fiona is a designer-maker of leaded windows, sometimes incorporating fused, copper foiled, painted or sandblasted elements. Her website is at www.theglassloft.co.uk.  Carole Lockwood   Tutor for Jewellery and Silversmithing

Carole is a qualified designer jeweller and diamond mounter who has been teaching at Orchard Workshop for many years. She is a member of the Association for Contemporary Jewellery, the Somerset Guild of Craftsmen and is a craftsman of the Guild of Enamellers. She teaches all skill levels and gets great satisfaction from seeing the progression of her students, some of whom now make jewellery professionally. Kim Thomson  Tutor  for Jewellery and Silversmithing

Kim has been silversmithing since 1997, and had 3 years, full time training while obtaining an honours degree in Jewellery Metalwork Techniques. She has been a professional tutor for over 15 years.

Her classes are mixed level – suitable for complete beginners as well as those looking to progress and many of her students have gone on to set up their own part and full-time jewellery businesses.

She teaches all her classes with an emphasis on student lead practice, were everyone has full control over what they choose to make, whilst still having access to plenty of technical help, demonstrations and advice, including online student resources to help those who wish to carry on their skills at home. Kim is experienced in tailoring her sessions to a range of learning styles and physical abilities to make silversmithing accessible and enjoyable. Her work has been featured in Vogue and Elle magazine as well as industry periodicals and many Local publications.
